Expired Violations

If you have been charged with Expired Motor Vehicle Registration, Expired Driver’s License, or Fail To Report Change of Name or Address on Driver’s License, you may be eligible to have the citation dismissed, only if you correct the violation within twenty (20) days of receiving the citation.

TO HAVE THE CITATION DISMISSED YOU MUST:

  • Get the violation corrected within twenty (20) working days from the offense date of your citation and provide proof to the  court on or before the due date listed on your citation.
  • Proof of correction for Expired Registration must show that a penalty was paid to the Department of Motor Vehicles at the time the registration was renewed. If the penalty is not paid, the Court cannot dismiss the citation.
  • Pay a $20 dismissal fee to the court.

DEFECTIVE EQUIPMENT

TO HAVE THE CITATION DISMISSED YOU MUST:

  • Get the violation corrected within twenty (20) working days from the offense date of your citation and provide proof to the court on or before your appearance date.
  • The proof of correction must be acceptable by the court.  A personal court appearance before the Judge may be required.
  • Pay a $10.00 dismissal fee to the court.
