Farmersville Economic Development Corporation Receives 2025 Excellence in Economic Development Gold Award from the International Economic Development Council

IEDC’s annual Excellence Awards honor the economic development organizations, government entities, initiatives, and programs that demonstrate consistent, exemplary performance in the profession

August 22, 2025 Farmersville, TX – Farmersville Economic Development Corporation (FEDC) received a 2025 Excellence in Economic Development Gold Award from the International Economic Development Council (IEDC). The award was bestowed for the organization’s work in the Innovative Economic Development category. Rodney Williams, on behalf of the FEDC, will be honored at the IEDC 2025 Annual Conference in Detroit, Michigan, September 14-17.

"Farmersville Economic Development Corporation is leading the field of excellence in economic development with its Fire Suppression Grant program. This award shines a spotlight on FEDC’s commitment to its community and showcases the significant impact of economic development,” said Nathan Ohle, IEDC President and CEO. “IEDC is honored to present this award to Farmersville Economic Development Corporation to celebrate both their leadership and innovation in the field."

Each year, IEDC honors economic development organizations, government entities, initiatives, and programs that consistently demonstrate excellence in the field. The honorees lead transformational projects that revitalize communities and advance the practice of economic development.

“This is an amazing and humbling honor,” said FEDC Executive Director Rodney Williams. “To have our program, our organization and our city recognized by such an esteemed organization as IEDC, one that works with economic development organizations across the world, is a testament to the hard work put in by the FEDC board of directors. Additionally, none of this would be possible without the full and unwavering support of the Farmersville Fire Marshal’s office, the Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone board, and the city manager, mayor and entire city council. This is a unique program that we built from the ground up with no template to guide us, a fact that was recognized in the judging and in FEDC bringing the top award home to Farmersville.”
