
Code Enforcement
The Code Enforcement Department enforces the provisions of state law, the Code of Ordinances, and such other city ordinances relating to building standards, fire safety, unsafe buildings, junked vehicles, signs, subdivisions and zoning (Code of Ordinances Sec. 38-138). Conducts inspections of public or private premises for the purpose of identifying environmental hazards, including: fire or health hazards; nuisance violations; unsafe building conditions; and violations of any fire, health, or building regulation, statute, or ordinance; and improving and rehabilitating those premises with regard to those hazards (TX Occupational Code Sec. 1952.001).
Mission Statement
The Code Enforcement Department provides education to promote community awareness and encourage code compliance. Enforces the codes by developing resources in response to a wide range of issues which affect the environment, health, safety, property and the general well-being of our community through the regulation and enforcement of the codes.
