Common Code Violations

Yard Maintenance
  • Residents are responsible for maintaining grass which includes the right-of-way and easements, so that it does not exceed 12 inches in height.
     
Tree Limbs & Branches
  • All Trees and Branches need to be trimmed and kept out of the line of sight of traffic. Be sure to bundle all tree, shrub, and brush trimmings securely, tied forming an easily handled package not exceeding four feet on each side, and should not weigh more than 50 pounds. Place bundles parallel to the road.
     
Trash & Debris
  • All trash, debris, and accumulation of rubbish must be properly disposed of in appropriate receptacles or placed on curb for bulky items pick up. Any items not intended for use outside are considered rubbish and must be removed.
     
Junked Vehicles
  • All vehicles must be in current working condition and maintain an unexpired license plate or a valid motor vehicle inspection certificate; or the vehicle must be completely enclosed within a building in a lawful manner where it is not visible from the street or other public or private property.
     
RVs & Trailers
  • All RVs and trailers (“vehicle”) must be parked on an improved surface and not in disrepair. RVs are not permitted to be used as temporary or permanent living dwellings inside city limits. The only exception is for those who are repairing or remodeling their home, which will require a special use permit from the City of Farmersville.
