The trailhead begins at the Historic Onion Shed and the City Park in downtown Farmersville. The City of Farmersville maintains five miles of the trail; 2.5 miles is paved, and 2.5 miles is a decomposed granite surface. Many geocache locations exist along the Chaparral Trail. This is just a portion of the 130 mile long Northeast Texas Trail, which continues to Paris, Texas and beyond to New Boston, Texas. The trailhead has ample parking, a covered pavilion with picnic tables and restroom facilities, all within walking distance.

Our latest brochure gives more information. To see how the Chaparral Trail is connected to the Northeast Texas Trail System, check out our PowerPoint presentation.
